How much does your unseen dog fence cost?
The cost of your unseen dog fence will vary depending upon some variables. To give a ball park estimate on pricing for our professionally installed system, a typical subdivision lawn that is 1 acre or less, with 1 dog, will cost approximately $1799. Additional dogs, acreage and challenging terrain could add to the cost. Give us a call to discuss detailed pricing.
Does it cost more to have more than 1 dog on the unseen electronic fence system?
Each pet must have its own collar/receiver, so the more pets you have on the unseen electronic system the more it will cost. Each additional dog cost app. $399
How large of an area can I allow the dogs to have?
We have installed systems as large a 10 acres and could do larger areas if desired. Our standard pricing is based on an area that is 1 acre or less. For areas larger than 1 acre there is an additional charge.
Does the type of terrain where my unseen dog fence will be installed affect the price?
Our standard pricing is based on installing the system in terrain that would be considered mown lawn. Forested areas with thick undergrowth, large rocky areas, water crossings, overgrown fields, or steeply sloped areas could add additional costs to the price.
How does the unseen dog fence work?
Without going into too much engineer speak, the system basically works like this. A transmitter, about the size of a computer board, is mounted in a weather protected area (typically a garage, basement, covered porch or storage building) where there is easy access to a standard electric wall outlet. The transmitter produces a radio signal that is carried around the perimeter of the boundary area through a buried cable. This perimeter cable must make a complete loop for the system to work. The radio signal emits from the cable and up from the ground. It cannot be seen, heard, felt, smelt or in any other way noticed except by the battery operated receiver that is attached to a collar that the pet is wearing. The width and height of the signal field (fence) is adjustable. The battery powered receiver/collar that the pet wears is programmed to respond only to the unique radio frequency being produced by the transmitter. When the receiver/collar detects the unique radio frequency it knows the pet is approaching the designated boundary area and responds in whatever manner it has been programmed to respond. Our receivers are customizable so we can adjust the response by size and personality of each individual pet. But generally speaking, the receiver/collar is programmed to respond with an audible warning alert and then a correction if the pet does not back away from the boundary area. With the right equipment, appropriate correction levels, and proper training, these systems are very effective at containing your pet and keeping them safe in your yard.
Are the unseen electronic dog fences safe for my pet?
Absolutely. That is why veterinarian groups and humane societies endorse these products. Of course, like most products, there are differences in capabilities and features that make some systems more effective, safe and pet friendly than others. Will installation disturb my yard?
Many people assume that we will be using a ditching machine, such as a Ditch Witch, which digs a much deeper and wider trench and can significantly disturb the lawn. We actually use a burying machine that is specifically manufactured to bury underground cable for pet containment systems. The machine cuts a slit in the ground that is approximately 1/4" wide and 4" deep. This slit is more visible in grass barren areas, but will fill in quickly after just a few rains. The slit is less visible in grassy areas and is not noticeable at all after just a few mowings of the yard in most cases. However; this is still somewhat of a construction project and we can not guarantee against killing some grass, freshly laid sod or any plants that may sustain some damage to branches or roots. Additionally, if your yard is irrigated you must be able to locate and identify the sprinkler heads so that we can avoid them while installing the cable. We are not responsible for hitting irrigation heads or anything else in the yard that is unmarked. We will have the underground utilities such as gas, electric, water, phone and cable marked by TN One Call (a free service).
Are the receivers/collars for your unseen dog fence affected by water?
Our receivers/collars are water proof, up to a depth of 12'. So rain, washing or swims will not affect our receivers/collars. That is not true with many of the other receivers/collars on the market from other manufacturers.

My neighbors have an unseen fence system and their dog breaks out constantly. How do I know this will work for me and my pet?
We hear this often, and I assure you that your neighbors are not using our system. Their system is most likely a cheaper, less capable product, or a do-it-yourself system. To keep it as simple as possible, we guarantee our system will keep your dog within the designated boundary area or we will refund 100% of your money! So we put our money where our mouth is so that there is no financial risk to you. Not many, if any, are able to make that type of guarantee. How long does it take for the dog to be trained to stay in the yard?
The time can vary from dog to dog, but generally speaking, from the initial training session until the first time you are able to let the dog out in the yard without being on a leash is approximately 5-7 days. We will provide the initial training the day that we install the system. While we are working with your dog we will be demonstrating to you what you will need to do over the next 5-7 days to insure that your dog fully understands his boundaries. It is a simple procedure that, once demonstrated, doesn't require any special expertise other than love and commitment to your pet.
Do you offer a wireless dog containment system?
No, not at this time. As a full service dealer we believe in providing systems that we have full confidence in. While wireless systems can be less expensive and easier to install, they have many limitations and are not nearly as capable or effective as the buried cable systems. There may be some instances where a wireless system is sufficient, but until the technology develops further for the application of pet containment we have chosen to stick with the time tested and proven system of buried cable.
